Egypt legend Ahmed Hossam Mido has backed his compatriot, Mohammed Salah for criticizing Liverpool over lack of contract extension offer.
Salah, whose contract expires at the end of the season is yet to receive a contract extension offer from the Premier League giants.
The Egyptian winger sparked a lot of controversy at the weekend after disclosing the club has yet to offer him a new deal.
And according to Mido, who is a former Tottenham Hotspurs player, Salah was right to be angry over failure of contract offer.
“If Liverpool’s management does not offer to renew Salah, he has the right to feel unappreciated. He is an inspiring player for the current generation and has contributed to many successes with the Reds.” Mido said on “On Time Sports” channel.
Meanwhile, the retired Egyptian footballer has advised his countryman to stay at Liverpool as he believes he can achieve more at the club.
Salah was in action when Liverpool inflicted a 2-0 win over Real Madrid at the Anfield in the UEFA Champions League round 5. He missed a penalty but could not deny the Reds victory at their own backyard.
