Mehdi Namli, who sustained an injury, will not be able to participate in the 29th African Cup of Nations. The Moroccan midfielder was injured during a friendly match between the Atlas Lions of Morocco and Bidvest Wits. The injury, reported as ruptured cruciate ligaments, forced Namli to withdraw from the tournament. In response to his absence, coach Rachid Taoussi has decided to replace him with Abdelilah Hafidi, a 20-year-old midfielder from Raja de Casablanca. Namli is expected to be sidelined for approximately six months.
