Tensions within the Eagles of Carthage, the national football team of Tunisia, have led to significant changes in the staff. The president of the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF), Wadîi El Jerii, has reportedly excluded the team doctor and physiotherapist. According to reports, El Jerii made this decision on the basis that the team doctor, Faciel Khachnaoui, and the physiotherapist lacked direct communication with either the players or the technical staff.
This move comes amid criticism from the coach, Sami Trabelsi, regarding the performance of the players. The team is currently in Abu Dhabi, fine-tuning their preparations for the 2013 African Cup of Nations (CAN). Tunisia is placed in Group D and will begin their campaign on January 22 against Algeria.
