AS Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has confirmed that he does not intend to stay in the French Ligue 1 beyond the current season. Despite receiving numerous offers from European clubs, Aubameyang has decided to complete the season with Saint-Etienne before seeking a new club in the summer.
While the Gabonese international has attracted interest from various clubs, he emphasized that he won’t be considering a move within France. He expressed three main reasons for this decision: the desire to discover football in another country, Paris Saint-Germain building a significant project, and concerns about the high tax rate for individuals earning more than €1 million per year in France.
Aubameyang made it clear that, although money is not his primary focus, the tax situation in France has influenced his decision to explore opportunities outside the country.
