Mouloudia Oujda to face Wydad Fès without new signings amid contract dispute

Ligue Champions Wydad Casablanca Victorieux Elimine Edited 1000x600 1

Mouloudia Oujda (MCO) will play their upcoming match against Wydad Fès without the inclusion of their new recruits, it has been officially confirmed.

The team’s interim committee, led by President Mohamed Hawar, has not yet managed to resolve the ongoing contract ban, preventing the new players from joining the squad.

The match, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, will take place at Angad Lazari Stadium in Oujda as part of the third round of the second professional league.

The provisional committee has been grappling with the national-level ban on player contracts, even though the issue had been resolved internationally thanks to the intervention of several stakeholders.

Despite their efforts, they have been unable to lift the domestic restrictions, leaving Mouloudia Oujda without their anticipated reinforcements.

On Thursday, the team’s management engaged in last-minute negotiations, attempting to resolve several outstanding disputes, including the case of Alaeddine Bouchina.

The player had a claim of 9 million MAD (Moroccan Dirhams) against the club, which was partially settled, reducing the amount to 5 million MAD, with 4 million MAD still under negotiation.

The two parties reached a protocol agreement, providing hope for a potential resolution.

However, other cases remain unresolved, mainly due to the complexity of the negotiations and the substantial financial sums involved, with some claims exceeding 20 million MAD.

The club is currently dealing with over 50 cases, reflecting the extent of the financial difficulties that have plagued Mouloudia Oujda in recent months.

During the summer transfer window, MCO signed more than 20 new players, hoping to strengthen their squad for the new season.

However, the team’s performance has been lackluster, with six matches played across competitions—two in the professional league, both of which ended in defeat, and four in the Excellence League, where they suffered three losses and managed just one draw against Difaa Hassani El Jadida.

As the team prepares to face Wydad Fès, fans and officials alike are eager for a turnaround, but the ongoing administrative challenges continue to cast a shadow over Mouloudia Oujda’s season.

The outcome of Saturday’s match will be crucial as the team aims to regain momentum, even as off-field issues remain unresolved.
