Ivorian international Jean-Jacques Gosso, who had been without a club since the termination of his contract at Orduspor, has found a new home in Turkey with Mersin Idman Yurdu. The versatile player, capable of playing as a right-sided player or defensive midfielder, recently concluded an agreement with his new team for a one-and-a-half-year contract.
Gosso had a trial in Brest, France, but it ended without a contract due to reported salary claim issues. The Ivorian, aged 21 and with 21 international caps, wasn’t included in the final squad selected by coach Sabri Lamouchi for the Côte d’Ivoire national team competing in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). The tournament is a significant event in African football, and players often strive to be part of their national teams during such competitions.
