Nigerian international Solomon Kwambe has expressed his strong support for French coach Hervé Renard to take over as the head coach of the Super Eagles.

With Finidi George no longer at the helm of the Super Eagles, despite the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) not officially announcing his dismissal, the search for a new expatriate coach has intensified.

The NFF has been exploring options for a foreign coach following the tenure of a local manager.

Hervé Renard, renowned for his success in African football, is a leading candidate for the position.

Renard’s illustrious career includes winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Zambia in 2012 and with Côte d’Ivoire in 2015.

His impressive track record extends to other national teams, making him a highly attractive option for the NFF.

Solomon Kwambe, speaking to SportsBoom, lauded Renard’s credentials and advocated for his appointment.

“Renard is an excellent coach, given his achievements with countries like Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, and Zambia.

He would be an ideal choice for the senior Nigeria national team,” Kwambe asserted.

His endorsement reflects the sentiment among some Nigerian players and supporters who believe that Renard’s extensive experience and success on the continental stage would greatly benefit the Super Eagles.

As the NFF continues its search for a new head coach, Renard’s potential appointment would signal a strategic move towards rejuvenating the Super Eagles and enhancing their competitive edge in international football.
