Patrice Motsepe to decide venue for African Super Cup between Al Ahly and Zamalek
Motsepe Tasked with Super Cup Venue Decision According to an insider from CAF’s Executive Office, “CAF’s Executive Committee has entrusted Patrice Motsepe with the responsibility of selecting the venue for the African Super Cup between Al Ahly and Zamalek. He will formally decide the fate of this encounter.”
Saudi Arabia and Qatar Bid to Host the African Super Cup The source further revealed, “Patrice Motsepe was briefed on the offers from Saudi Arabia and Qatar during the latest Executive Committee meeting.
Subsequently, he was tasked with choosing the appropriate host and then assigning the responsibility of determining the timing to the Competitions Committee.”
Continued Negotiations Between Saudi Arabia and Qatar “There are offers on the table from both Saudi Arabia and Qatar within CAF, but as of now, no decision has been made regarding which country will be chosen to host the highly anticipated match,” the source confirmed.
Ahmed Shober, a prominent media figure, also affirmed that the Confederation of African Football is considering raising the hosting offer for the Super Cup to $4 million, doubling the initial bid of $2 million.
The decision on where the showdown between the Egyptian giants will take place is eagerly awaited by football enthusiasts across the continent, as both Al Ahly and Zamalek vie for supremacy in what promises to be a fiercely contested match-up.
