Islam Slimani dismisses rumors of return to Algerian football
The forward, affectionately known as ‘El Arabi’ to his fans, has been linked with a return to his former club, CR Belouizdad, sparking excitement among Algerian football enthusiasts. However, Slimani has put an end to these rumors.
French-Algerian journalist Nabil Djellit, who writes for the French sports daily L’Équipe, reached out to Slimani to get his take on the matter. Djellit shared Slimani’s response on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, where the veteran striker firmly denied any ongoing negotiations with Algerian clubs.
“I’ve heard news about negotiations with Algerian clubs, and this is absolutely unfounded,” Slimani stated.
