Morocco’s coach, Rachid Taoussi, has announced the squad for the upcoming CAN 2013 tournament. The list includes players from the local Botola Pro championship, with nine players chosen, including all three goalkeepers: Nadir Lamyaghri (WAC Casablanca), Anas Zniti (MAS Fez), and Khalid Askri (Raja Casablanca). The coach expressed the goal of progressing beyond the group stage and emphasized that he alone is responsible for player selections. Houssine Kharja, the former captain and midfielder, will not participate in the tournament, and the team captaincy is now handed to Mehdi Benatia, the Udinese defender.
