Hervé Renard, the coach of Zambia, was awarded the trophy for the best coach of the year. Renard led Zambia’s national team to victory in the 28th African Cup of Nations in 2012, defeating Ivory Coast in the final. The Chipolopolo coach achieved the remarkable feat of defeating all the favorites in the tournament. Renard is set to lead Zambia again in the defense of their African Championship title during the CAN 2013 in South Africa.
