Issa Kaboré’s season with Luton Town has come to an abrupt halt following a significant ankle injury sustained during his team’s recent 1-5 defeat against Brentford. The Burkinabè midfielder’s unfortunate injury not only dashes his hopes of representing Luton for the remainder of the season but also raises concerns about his availability for Burkina Faso’s upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.
Expressing his disappointment over Kaboré’s injury setback, Luton’s coach, Rob Edwards, confirmed the severity of the sprained ankle during a pre-match press conference ahead of the team’s fixture against Wolverhampton.
“He came out in the first half last week. He has a big sprain in his ankle, so he’s going to miss the rest of the season, which is really disappointing for us and even more disappointing for him,” Edwards lamented.
Despite the setback, Edwards expressed his desire to continue working with Kaboré in the future, highlighting the midfielder’s exceptional qualities and potential for the seasons ahead.
“I would really like to continue working with him but it won’t just depend on me. He has a lot of potential. He’s a fantastic athlete, a great person, and it’s been great for us.
Issa Kaboré is a young player who will have a very good career. He is a diamond boy who absolutely gives the best of himself every day,” Edwards concluded.
Kaboré, who initially faced challenges at the start of the season, evolved into a pivotal figure in Luton Town’s tactical setup, featuring in 24 matches.
His absence will undoubtedly be felt by the team as they navigate the remaining fixtures of the season.
Sources suggest that the Burkinabè midfielder is expected to make his return in July 2024, aiming to resume his promising career with renewed determination and vigor.
