Sporting Charleroi’s recent performances in the Jupiler Pro League have secured their position in the Belgian elite for the upcoming season, thanks in part to the contributions of goalkeeper Hervé Koffi. With three victories and a draw in the first four matches of the phase for maintaining their league status, Charleroi has already ensured their place in the top flight for next season.
Reflecting on the achievement, Koffi expressed his relief and gratitude, stating, “It’s really a big relief for me, my teammates, the staff, and all the club managers.
We worked hard from the start. We set ourselves goals and I thank God for this result.”
Individually, Koffi assessed his season positively, acknowledging the challenges that came with changes in coaching staff but emphasizing his ability to adapt.
“Well, first of all it must be said that it was complicated with the change of coach and everything, but I quickly adapted to the work of the new coach,” he remarked. “And there you have it, thank God too, I was present in matches where the team needed me. So here is! Overall it was good…”
This season marks Koffi’s last with Charleroi, with reports indicating an impending transfer to RC Lens
. The Burkinabè international, valued at 1.3 million euros, demonstrated his prowess with two clean sheets in four matches during the maintenance phase of the Belgian championship.
Throughout the regular season, he managed to keep a clean sheet in seven matches.
Financially, Koffi’s annual salary stands at 554,944 euros, reflecting his value to the team and his contributions on the pitch.
