The Professional Football League in Morocco has released a list of national teams prohibited from winter transfers due to outstanding payments to some of their players.
According to a document from the Professional Football League, obtained by “Hesport,” 23 Moroccan teams are forbidden from transfers, comprising 11 teams from the first professional league and the remainder from the second professional league.
Leading the “Pro 1” league are both local and international-level powerhouses, Wydad and Raja Casablanca, along with Moghreb Tetouan, Hassania Agadir, Ittihad Tangier, Youssoufia Berrechid, Olympic Safi, Chabab Mohammedia, Mouloudia Oujda, Chabab Riadi Al Salé, and Maghreb Fes.
In the second division, 12 teams are barred from winter transfers, encompassing all teams in this category, with exceptions for Racing Casablanca, Chabab Al Massira, Olympique Dcheira, and Stade Marocain.
Most Moroccan teams are grappling with financial challenges, affecting the overall atmosphere within the clubs.
This season has witnessed numerous player strikes due to delays in receiving their pending payments from club administrations.
FIFA has established an electronic platform to disclose the lists of clubs subjected to transfer bans during the transfer window, which includes 12 Moroccan clubs.
