2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Samuel Eto’o involved in altercation with fan during Cameroon v Angola game [VIDEO]
Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) president Samuel Eto’o was reportedly involved in a tense confrontation with a fan during Monday night’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Angola.
Since taking office, the four-time African Player of the Year has been at the center of multiple controversies, including allegations of corruption and public outbursts that have drawn widespread attention.
The Indomitable Lions, needing a win to boost their qualification hopes, were held to a goalless draw by Angola.
The result ultimately proved insufficient, as group rivals Cape Verde secured their place in the tournament with a victory over Eswatini.
Eyewitnesses reported that Eto’o, seated in the VIP section, was verbally confronted by an angry supporter who allegedly shouted: “He needs to get out of there! Idiot! It’s because of him we’re not qualified!”
🗣️ « Faut qu’il parte de là ! Imbécile ! C’est à cause de lui qu’on n’est pas qualifiés ! »
