Morocco attacker, Bilal El Khannouss has called on the Atlas Lions’ fans to turn out in large numbers for the match against Tanzania.
In the Matchday six games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the 2022 World Cup semifinalist will host Tanzania at the Stade d’Honneur in Oujda on Tuesday with kick-off scheduled at 21:00 GMT.
The Atlas Lions rallied from a goal down to beat Niger 2-1 to take control of Group E with 12 points while Tanzania sit 3rd with six points.
Speaking ahead of the game, the Leicester City forward called on the fans to show up in their numbers are they seek an early qualification for the Mundial which will be hosted in the USA, Canada and Mexico next year.
“We are seeking to secure early qualification for the World Cup finals, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico,” El Khannous told the Moroccan Football Federation’s website.
“Of course, the presence of fans is very important to us, as they do with us in all our matches. The presence of fans is our weapon to defeat Tanzania, and I also hope to repeat what I did against Niger by scoring.
“I am happy to score my first goal with the Moroccan national team, but the team’s victory comes first, not achieving individual records,” he added.
