Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah is leading the top scorers chart in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the end of Round 5.
The Liverpool star with six goals in the qualifiers already will be hoping to find the back of the net in Round 6 to extend his lead at the top of the top scorer’s chart.
Close behind Salah is his Egyptian teammate Mahmoud Trézéguet, who has scored five goals so far. Trézéguet found the net twice in a 2-0 win over Sierra Leone on Match Day 2, added another in the 6-0 rout of Djibouti, and delivered a brace against Burkina Faso on Match Day 5 to keep pace with Salah.
Gabonese forward Denis Bouanga also boasts five goals in the qualifiers. The next on the chart is Ghana captain Jordan Ayew. He is the Black Stars’ top scorer in the qualifiers with five goals to his name.
Heading into Round 6, Salah, Trezeguet, and Jordan Ayew will be key for their countries. While they will be eager to help their national teams earn three points, they will also hope to score to add to their tally in the top scorer’s chart.
