Egyptian superstar, Mohamed Salah remains the top scorer in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with six goals.
The Liverpool sensation was in action for his country on Friday night in their clash against Ethiopia in Group A.
In a game that produced two goals, Mohamed Salah scored the first in the 31st minute after he was set up by Hamdi Fathy.
Nine minutes later, Salah turned the provider, assisting Zizo to score the second goal for Egypt, taking the African giants into the break with a comfortable lead.
Despite the efforts of Ethiopia in the second half, the team could not come back into the game and had to succumb to a 2-0 defeat the end of the 90 minutes.
With Mohamed Salah’s goal on Friday night, he has increased his tally in the African qualifiers to six.
He remains the top scorer followed by Ghana’s Jordan Ayew, Denis Bouanga of Gabon, and Mali’s Kamory Doumbia who are all on five goals.

Meanwhile, Salah’s goal has helped Egypt to take control of Group A. Unbeaten in five games, the Pharaohs are on 13 points and on course to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
