2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Gernot Rohr announces Benin squad for Nigeria and Rwanda games

Benin head coach Gernot Rohr has announced his squad for the final two fixtures of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Squirrels head into the October international break atop Group C, benefiting from South Africa’s three-point deduction after the latter were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player against Lesotho in March.

Rohr’s side will face Rwanda and Nigeria next week, bolstered by the return of key players.

Junior Olaitan and Tosin Aiyegun have both been included, with Aiyegun making his comeback following an injury sustained against Zimbabwe during the September international break.
