Morocco will be without Abdessamad Ezzalzouli and Hakim Ziyech for their 2026 World Cup qualifying fixtures against Niger and Zambia next month.
Ezzalzouli has been ruled out due to ongoing fitness concerns following the ankle injury he sustained in the European Conference League final against Chelsea two months ago.
Head coach Walid Regragui reportedly spoke with the winger, who confirmed he will not return to action for Real Betis until after the international break, as advised by his club’s medical team.
Ziyech also misses out, with his absence linked to his current free-agent status.
The midfielder had hoped to secure a move to a European club, a promise discussed with Regragui in Doha before the end of the season, but remains unattached following his exit from Qatari side Al-Duhail.
Crystal Palace defender Shadi Riyad will also be unavailable for the squad for the third time due to injury.
Morocco will face Niger at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on September 5 before traveling to Zambia to play at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on September 8.
