2026 World Cup play-offs: Cameroon midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa to miss DR Congo clash due to injury

Serie A side Napoli can breathe a sigh of relief as midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa has shown positive signs in tests following an injury sustained with Cameroon.

The midfielder had suffered a muscular issue on international duty, raising fears of a more serious lesion that could have sidelined him for four to six weeks.

However, according to reports, the initial examinations revealed only a minor strain with no significant damage.

As a result, Anguissa will undergo conservative treatment and rest, likely keeping him out for around 10 days.

This means the midfield enforcer will miss Cameroon’s World Cup play-off game against DR Congo, as earlier revealed by AfricaSoccer.com.

This period coincides with the international break, meaning Napoli expect him back in time for their clash with Roma on November 30, though he may miss the game against Atalanta on November 22.

The former Fulham player has been in fine form this season, contributing four goals and two assists in 11 Serie A appearances.
