Experienced striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted a sensational hat-trick for Gabon on Sunday afternoon, steering the team to secure an important 2-1 win against Kenya in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The win has propelled Gabon to the top of Group D.
The former Arsenal goal poacher who now plays for Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League started for his country in the Round 6 fixture of the qualification games.
Although Gabon played as the visiting side, they put pressure on the host early in the first half.
The efforts of the team paid off in the 16th minute when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored to break the deadlock. The striker was assisted by Guelor Kanga.
That goal separated the two teams at halftime before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the lead for Gabon later in the second half.
The veteran forward equalised in the 52nd minute, completing a brace and ensuring his team secured all three points at full-time.
The only consolation goal for Kenya was scored by Michael Olunga.
