FC Porto midfielder Stephen Eustáquio is anticipating a tough clash against Al Ahly in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The Portuguese club and the Egyptian giants are in the same group at the upcoming expanded tournament.

Al Ahly will open the Club World Cup against Inter Miami at 3:00 AM on June 15, then face Palmeiras and conclude the group stage with a match against Porto.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Porto midfielder Stephen Eustáquio picked Al Ahly as the side that will be the most difficult to play against.

“To be honest, I think it’s Al-Ahly, because we don’t know the team well, and that doesn’t mean we’re underestimating or disrespecting them. Many have said they’re a very good team, physically strong, and like to run,” Eustaquio told Portuguese newspaper Record.

He added, “All the matches are difficult, and Palmeiras is also a very difficult team. Inter Miami also has its capabilities, so I think they will be very difficult and competitive matches, and I think it’s a balanced group.”

“I expect us to perform well. We will have very difficult matches because the other teams are very strong as well, but I believe that if we have the right mentality and characteristics, we will have everything we need to get through the group stage. Then the next matches will be against very strong teams. It’s like the Champions League, but we will do our best to go as far as possible.”

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will kick off in the USA on June 15.
