Goalkeeper and captain of Al Ahly, Mohamed El-Shenawy, is hopeful that the team will win their remaining matches in the group stage of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
He experienced a shot-stopper displayed excellent form on Saturday night in the team’s opening match of the tournament against MLS side Inter Miami.
Speaking in a post-match interview after a goalless draw against Inter Miami, Mohamed El-Shenawy said a lot of things affected the team.
“We were affected by many things, including the high humidity, and we were facing a large and respected team with big stars. We have closed the chapter on the match and will move our focus to the next match,” the goalkeeper said.
Mohamed El-Shenawy continued, “My focus is on helping the team work towards victory. The players were excellent in the first half in particular. We are all one team, and the important thing is to strive for victory, which is what we hope to achieve in the upcoming matches.”
Al Ahly are preparing to face Brazilian side Palmeiras and FC Porto from Portugal in their final two games in Group A.
