The head coach of Pyramids FC, Krunoslav Jurčić, has stated that his team’s CAF Champions League triumph this season is a reward for their hard work throughout the season.
The Egyptian club fought to earn a 2-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the second leg of this season’s CAF Champions League final.
The victory secured a 3-2 aggregate win for Pyramids FC, ensuring that the team clinched its first-ever CAF Champions League trophy.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Coach Krunoslav Jurčić argued that Pyramids FC won the trophy because of hard work.
“I don’t know what to say. We succeeded in winning the CAF Champions League, and we deserved it. I consider winning the title a reward for the work we put in throughout the season,” the Pyramids coach told beIN Sports.
Jurčić added, “I thank the Egyptian fans for supporting Pyramids in the CAF Champions League final. The fans flocked here to cheer us on. I asked them to do so, and I thank them for fulfilling my request. The Egyptian fans gave us special energy and helped Pyramids.”
Pyramids FC have become only the four club in Egypt to have won the CAF Champions League.
