Morocco will find out their group-stage opponents for the 2025 Arab Cup on Saturday, May 24, during the official draw ceremony in Doha, Qatar.
FIFA confirmed that the draw will take place in the Qatari capital and will coincide with the final of the Emir Cup. On the same day, the draw for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup will also be conducted.
Delegations from 16 Arab countries set to compete in the Arab Cup, along with representatives from all 48 nations qualified for the U-17 World Cup, are expected to attend the event.
The Arab Cup will run from December 1 to 18, culminating on Qatar’s National Day. The U-17 World Cup is scheduled slightly earlier, from November 3 to 27.
Qatar will host the Arab Cup for the second consecutive edition, having previously staged the tournament in 2021, when Algeria claimed the title with a 2-0 victory over Tunisia in the final.
This year’s edition promises a larger prize pool and is expected to attract significant fan interest. Iraq remains the most successful team in the competition’s history with four titles, followed by Saudi Arabia with two. Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco—who won their only title in 2012—each have one.
Morocco has been placed in Pot 1 for the draw, alongside Egypt, Algeria, and tournament hosts Qatar. The Atlas Lions reached the semi-finals in 2021 but were eliminated by Algeria on penalties.
Several Arab nations, including Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and host Qatar, will also feature in the upcoming U-17 World Cup.
Germany will arrive as defending champions, having edged France on penalties in the 2023 final after a 2-2 draw.
