2024 CHAN: We proved our quality against DR Congo – Morocco coach Tariq Sektioui

Morocco coach Tariq Sektioui has lauded his players after the Atlas Lions qualified for teh quarterfinals in the ongoing 2024 African Nations Championship.

Morocco secured a place in the quarter-finals after defeating Congo 3-1 on Sunday, placing second in Group A behind Kenya.

“I would like to thank the Moroccan players for their great efforts, even though most of them did not accompany me during the preparation period,” Saktioui said after the game.

“I made major changes to the Lions’ roster before the trip. The group we were in was strong, and the results reflect our great quality.

“I will leave the Moroccan players to celebrate their qualification, and then we will discuss the next match against Tanzania.

“We will play a strong match against Tanzania, and we will try to overcome the absence crisis, because we are striving to win the title,” he added.

Morocco will now face Niger tonight with kick-off scheduled at 18:00 GMT.
