Morocco’s national team coach, Walid Regragui, has reached out to Tariq Sektioui following the Atlas Lions’ 1-0 defeat to co-host Kenya in the 2024 CHAN tournament.
Reports indicate that Regragui, alongside his assistant Rachid Benmahmoud, could travel to Kenya if Morocco’s domestic side advances to the knockout stages.
“Regragui may attend one of the knockout fixtures should Morocco progress. However, the final on August 30 is out of reach, as it coincides with the Atlas Lions’ closed training camp ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Niger and Zambia on September 5 and 9,” a source revealed.
Regragui is well-known for his presence at finals of junior, Olympic, and youth competitions, as well as major continental matches involving Moroccan clubs.
Currently third in Group A with three points, Morocco will face Zambia on Thursday in a crucial encounter to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.
