Senegal has promised each player a bonus of 5 million CFA francs (West African CFA franc) in the event of qualification for the next round. This comes as part of the motivation efforts for the Lions ahead of their match against the Elephants. The bonus amount is significantly lower than the 365 million CFA francs promised to the Ivorian players. Before the match, all victory and draw bonuses were paid to the Senegalese team. A meeting was also held to address bonus concerns and reassure the players, who expressed a preference for concentrating on the match rather than bonus discussions. The 5 million CFA franc bonus was agreed upon in 2010.
