Paulo Bento wasted no time in finalizing his squad for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil. After initially naming a provisional list of 30 players, the Portugal coach has trimmed it down to 23, leaving out seven players.
Notable omissions from the final squad include Ricardo Quaresma from FC Porto and Anthony Lopes from Lyon.
Leading the charge for Portugal will be Cristiano Ronaldo, their star player, who will be participating in his third World Cup alongside Ricardo Costa. Despite a lengthy injury spell at Manchester United this season, Nani has made the cut and will be part of the squad.
