Achille Webo Recovering After Shoulder Injury Scare
Cameroonian striker Achille Webo has escaped serious injury after a scare during Cameroon’s first warm-up match against Macedonia, which ended 2-0 in favor of the Indomitable Lions. The Fenerbahce forward was forced off the pitch with a shoulder issue, but subsequent tests revealed that the injury was not as serious as initially feared.
Webo was able to train on Tuesday morning, much to the relief of the Cameroonian coaching staff, who are already dealing with a number of injuries to key players. Among those sidelined are Aurélien Chedjou, Jean Armel Kana-Biyik, and goalkeeper Charles Itandje.
Team star Samuel Eto’o is also dealing with his own fitness concerns and is heading back to Barcelona on Tuesday for further examination of a painful knee. The Indomitable Lions’ medical staff will be hoping for good news as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures.
