Ghana’s technical team, led by Carlos Queiroz, has intensified preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with an extensive, data-led programme aimed at sharpening the Black Stars’ competitive edge.

In an update from the Ghana Football Association, the month-long effort between April 11 and May 11 reflects a deliberate shift towards analytical precision and performance monitoring ahead of the tournament in June.

The backroom staff have combined scouting, tactical assessment, medical tracking and fitness analysis as part of a coordinated strategy to optimise player readiness.

The approach underscores a broader ambition to modernise the national team’s operations through detailed evaluation and evidence-based decision-making.

Figures released by the association highlight the scale of the exercise. A total of 200 individual video reports were compiled to assess player performance, while 170 matches were monitored live.

In addition, 30 matches were observed in person, with 75 players placed under continuous scouting surveillance and 30 subjected to direct live observation.

Medical assessments and fitness evaluations have also been prioritised, ensuring players remain in peak condition heading into the global showpiece.

The comprehensive workload signals a proactive attempt to address weaknesses and build cohesion within the squad.

Ghana, making their fifth World Cup appearance, have been drawn in a challenging group alongside England, Croatia and Panama, with their opening fixture scheduled for June 17.
