The countdown is officially on. In just 100 days, the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 will roar into action in Morocco, North Africa.

The month-long tournament is expected to ignite passion, celebrate the culture of the people, and bring Africans together.

From December  21 to January 18, 2026, the spotlight will fall on Africa’s biggest stage as 24 nations compete for glory in a tournament that promises breathtaking action, historic rivalries, and unforgettable drama.

For players, AFCON remains more than just a trophy chase as it is an opportunity to etch their names into the history books and prove themselves ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

For fans, it is four weeks of pure magic, where every goal, every tackle, and every chant becomes part of a story that stretches far beyond the pitch.

The group stage draw, held in Rabat early this year in January, has set the stage for intriguing matchups right from the opening whistle. Defending champions Côte d’Ivoire will begin their title defence with tough clashes in Group F, while seven-time winners Egypt and hosts Morocco prepare to shoulder the weight of expectation.

Heavyweights Nigeria, Algeria, and Senegal also headline the competition, each determined to stamp their dominance early.

But AFCON has always been about more than just the giants. From debutants seeking to shock the world to underdogs dreaming of a fairytale run, every nation arrives in Morocco with hope. With packed stadiums from Rabat to Marrakech and Casablanca to Tangier, the atmosphere will be electric.
