Ahmed Sayed Zizo was forced off injured during Al Ahly’s league meeting with National Bank of Egypt on Tuesday night in the 17th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The versatile attacker left the pitch early, raising concern among fans and coaching staff about his fitness in a crucial stage of the season.
The incident occurred in the 28th minute, when Zizo felt pain in his hamstring while trying to launch an attacking move towards the Bank of Egypt goal. He immediately signaled that he could not continue, and Hussein El Shahat came on as his replacement as Al Ahly adjusted their attacking shape.
According to Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, Al Ahly’s team doctor, Zizo complained of pain in the right hamstring during the match at Cairo International Stadium.
He explained that the player will undergo further medical examinations in the coming hours to determine the extent of the injury and the required recovery period.
The club will be hoping for positive news, as Zizo remains one of Al Ahly’s key offensive weapons in domestic and continental competitions.
