Ahmed Sayed Zizo has suffered a minor muscle strain after scoring Al Ahly’s only goal in their 2-1 defeat by Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Cup at Spotify Camp Nou.

The Al Ahly forward underwent medical tests following the match, with the results confirming that the injury is not serious.

His condition will now be monitored ahead of the Egyptian club’s next league fixture against El Sharqia Enppi.

Zizo injury assessed after Barcelona match

Zizo was forced to deal with the injury after featuring for Al Ahly against Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Cup.

Medical examinations carried out after the game showed that the player had sustained a minor strain.

Al Ahly will continue to assess his condition before deciding whether he is fit enough to feature in the club’s next competitive match.

The Egyptian side are due to face El Sharqia Enppi in the opening round of the Egyptian League, with the match scheduled for 20:00 on Sunday at Al Salam Stadium.

Zizo’s availability for that fixture will depend on the outcome of further medical assessment and his recovery from the strain.

Zizo scores against Barcelona

Despite the injury concern, Zizo provided one of the main highlights for Al Ahly during their meeting with Barcelona.

The forward found the net with a powerful finish after receiving a well-weighted pass from Munsif Bakar.

Zizo took the opportunity and struck the ball into the Barcelona goal to give Al Ahly their only goal of the match.

His effort came in a game that ultimately ended in defeat for the Egyptian club.

Barcelona scored twice to secure a 2-1 victory, with Hamza Abdelkarim and Rafinha Diaz finding the net for the Spanish side.

Zizo’s goal was not enough to prevent Al Ahly from suffering defeat.

Al Ahly turn attention to league opener

With the Joan Gamper Cup now behind them, Al Ahly’s focus turns to the start of their Egyptian League campaign.

The club are preparing to meet El Sharqia Enppi at Al Salam Stadium on Sunday at 20:00.

The match will represent Al Ahly’s first fixture in the new league campaign.

Zizo’s fitness will therefore be closely watched by the club as preparations continue.

The initial medical assessment has provided some encouragement, with the injury described as minor.

However, Al Ahly will need to determine whether the player has recovered sufficiently to take part against El Sharqia Enppi.

For Zizo, the immediate priority will be recovering from the strain after an eventful night against Barcelona, where his goal stood out despite Al Ahly’s 2-1 defeat.

Medical decision expected before Enppi match

Al Ahly now have to balance Zizo’s recovery with the demands of their opening league fixture.

Further evaluation will determine whether the forward can return to action against El Sharqia Enppi or needs additional time to recover.

For now, the tests have confirmed a minor strain rather than a serious injury, leaving his participation in Sunday’s match to be decided after his condition is reassessed.
