Zizo appeals EFA decision in dispute with Zamalek, demands huge payment

Al Ahly forward Ahmed Mostafa “Zizo” has officially lodged a grievance with the Appeals Committee of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) after the Players’ Affairs Committee rejected his complaint against former club Zamalek.

Zizo, through his lawyer Ashraf Abdel Aziz, is seeking the cancellation of the Players’ Affairs Committee’s decision and wants Zamalek ordered to settle his outstanding financial obligations, which he claims amount to EGP 82,502,563.

The player is also requesting payment of the winning bonus for Zamalek’s Egypt Cup triumph in the 2024/2025 season, as part of his financial claims against the club.

In his appeal, Zizo maintained that he fully honoured his contract with Zamalek, which ran for three seasons from the 2022/2023 campaign until the end of the 2024/2025 season. He stated that he participated in all scheduled matches for the club across domestic and African competitions during the contract period.

The Al Ahly player also challenged the procedures followed by the Players’ Affairs Committee during the review of his initial complaint. He argued that he had not been provided with the reasons behind the decision to dismiss the case, despite requesting an explanation on several occasions.

The Appeals Committee of the Egyptian Football Association is now expected to review Zizo’s grievance and determine whether the previous ruling should stand or be overturned.
