Zinedine Zidane plans tighter control of France team arrival images

Zinedine Zidane has announced plans to change how France players are filmed when they arrive at the Clairefontaine training centre, in one of his first decisions as the national team’s new manager.

The former France captain said his coaching staff would seek to reduce the media spectacle surrounding the players’ arrivals and exercise greater control over the images produced at the start of international camps.

Speaking at a news conference after announcing his first squad, Zidane said: “There is no message calling for restraint. What we will change is that, once we arrive there, there will be no need to put on such a show.”

He added that France would try to “have greater control over the images”, while acknowledging that photographs would ultimately reach the media and the public.

The approach reflects Zidane’s broader view of his responsibilities as France manager. He said his role would extend beyond selecting players and making decisions on the pitch to include managing the atmosphere at the training camp and dealing with the details surrounding the team.
