Zimbabwean side Scottland FC restructure technical team

Zimbabwean side Scottland FC has unveiled a revamped and well-resourced technical team, with former Kaizer Chiefs defender Lincoln Zvasiya among the key appointments.

Zvasiya, 35, has been named the club’s defence coach—a rare specialist role in modern football that focuses exclusively on shaping and guiding defenders.

The former Zimbabwe international featured for the Soweto giants between 2011 and 2014, including a loan stint with Greek side OFI Crete in 2013.

He joins a 17-member technical staff as Scottland aims to defend their Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title.

The club, which captured the league crown in their debut top-flight season last year, starts the new campaign under the guidance of experienced coach Norman Mapeza, formerly of Chippa United.

Adding to the strength of the setup, former Mamelodi Sundowns star Peter Ndlovu was recently appointed team manager, reflecting the club’s strategy to surround the squad with seasoned professionals.

This approach, highlighted by the inclusion of several ex-professionals like Zvasiya, signals Scottland’s intent to maintain their dominance and continue their rapid ascent in Zimbabwean football.

Owned by businessman Pedzisayi “Scott” Sakupwanya, the club also features former PSL stars such as Khama Billiat, Knowledge Musona, and ex-Orlando Pirates striker Terrence Dzvukamanja.

Scottland kicked off their 2026 campaign with a goalless draw away at Hard Rock FC on Sunday.
