Zimbabwean champions Scottland FC have secured a significant financial boost as they prepare for their first-ever CAF Champions League campaign next season.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League newcomers, who stunned the country by winning the 2025 title in their debut top-flight season, will represent Zimbabwe on the continental stage under head coach Norman Mapeza.

In a major development, the club confirmed a donation of $300,000 from businessman Wicknell Chivayo to support their preparations for Africa’s premier club competition.

According to a statement from Scottland FC, the financial package forms part of a wider set of incentives offered to the team, which also includes rewards for recent performances.

“We would like to thank our sponsor Sir Wicknell Chivayo for the several incentives given to the team today [Wednesday]: US$50,000 for winning the Independence Trophy at Maphisa Stadium on Saturday, US$300,000 to boost the squad for the CAF Champions League,” the club said.

The club further revealed additional perks, including a luxury vehicle award and performance bonuses tied to their league campaign.

“2026 Range Rover Sport worth US$280,000 for club chairman Everson Chatambudza, big bonus (via IMC) for a positive result against Dynamos on MatchDay 8 at Rufaro today [Wednesday]. We thank Sir Wicknell for his continued support to Scottland FC!”

Scottland FC head into their continental debut with a squad bolstered by experience, including former CAF Champions League winners Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona, adding pedigree to their ambitious African challenge.
