Zimbabwe announces squad for Unity Cup tournament in London

The Zimbabwe Football Association has unveiled the national team squad set to represent Zimbabwe at the upcoming Unity Cup, scheduled to take place in London, United Kingdom, from May 26 to May 30.

The four-nation tournament will feature Zimbabwe alongside Nigeria, Jamaica, and India in a compact international competition designed to offer teams high-level exposure ahead of future assignments.

Zimbabwe, also known as the Zimbabwe national football team, will use the tournament as part of its ongoing preparations and development plan, with the squad selected to provide a blend of experience and emerging talent.

Goalkeepers

The goalkeeping department includes Marley Tavaziva (Brentford), Future Sibanda (ZPC Kariba), and Elvis Chipezeze (Magesi).

Defenders

The defensive unit features Munashe Garananga (Hibernian), Corbin Mthunzi (Ipswich Town), Shane Maroodza (FK Sarajevo), Gerald Takwara (Al-Ittihad Misurata), Jordan Zemura (Udinese), Divine Lunga (Mamelodi Sundowns), Emmanuel Jalai (Durban City), and Sean Fusire (Sheffield Wednesday).

Midfielders

In midfield, the squad includes Mongameli Tshuma (Highlanders), Marvelous Nakamba (Sheffield Wednesday), Aboubacar Moffat (Scotland-based), Jonah Fabisch (Erzgebirge Aue), Marshall Munetsi (Paris), and Tawanda Chirewa (Barnsley).

Forwards

The attacking options are Tawanda Maswanhise (Motherwell), Prince Dube (Young Africans), Junior Zindoga (TS Galaxy), Bill Antonio (KV Mechelen), Daniel Msendami (Orlando Pirates), and Tino Kadewere (Aris Thessaloniki).

ZIFA indicated that further details, including final adjustments to the squad and technical staff arrangements, will be communicated in the coming days as preparations intensify for the London-based tournament.
