Zimbabwe Football Federation (Zifa) suspended fifteen players and officials for life on charges of involvement in a match-fixing scandal. The individuals, including former national coach Sunday Chidzambwa and ex-captain Method Mwanjali, were found guilty of conspiring with an Asian betting company on friendly matches of the national selection in Asia between 2007 and 2009. The suspensions were the result of an independent investigation recommended by Zifa and could potentially be extended by FIFA to the global football community. The banned individuals include players, coaches, officials, and journalists.
