Ziad Farag leaves El Masry as Egypt midfielder becomes a free agent
Egyptian attacking midfielder Ziad Farag has left El Masry and become a free agent, ending his latest spell with the Egyptian Premier League club on 1 August 2026.
Farag, 24, departs after making 54 Premier League appearances during his career, recording one assist across 1,353 minutes. He also featured in the CAF Confederation Cup, Egypt Cup, Egyptian League Cup and Championship Playoff.
His most recent campaign included a contribution to El Masry’s Egyptian League Cup success. Farag played four matches in the competition and scored once, helping the club win the trophy in the 2025-26 season.
The Egypt international joined El Masry from Petrojet at the end of a loan spell on 30 June 2025. He had initially moved to Petrojet from El Masry on loan in September 2024, having previously spent the 2023-24 season on loan at El Mokawloon.
Farag began his senior club career with El Masry after progressing from the club’s under-21 side in 2019. He operates primarily in attacking midfield and is right-footed.
His departure leaves Farag without a club following the conclusion of his association with El Masry. The move was recorded on 1 August 2026.
