ZED FC agree deal to sign National Bank of Egypt midfielder Mahmoud Emad

ZED FC have reached an agreement with National Bank of Egypt to sign midfielder Mahmoud Emad on loan for the 2026-27 season.

Emad spent the second half of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Al Ittihad Alexandria, but is now set to continue his career with ZED FC after the two clubs concluded negotiations over a temporary move.

The midfielder joined National Bank of Egypt from Pharco FC before making his loan switch to Al Ittihad Alexandria. ZED FC have now agreed a deal with National Bank of Egypt to bring him in as they continue preparing for the new season.

The move is part of an ongoing recruitment drive by ZED FC, who are seeking to strengthen their squad ahead of a campaign that will include the club’s first appearance in an African competition.

ZED FC have also completed an agreement with Aston Villa to bring back Omar Khedr. The club had previously announced the signing of Mohamed Ibrahim, who has represented National Bank of Egypt, Ceramica Cleopatra and Zamalek.

They have further added Haras El Hodoud winger Mahmoud Okka as they work to improve their attacking options.

ZED FC are currently holding a pre-season training camp in Turkey. The squad travelled there under head coach Mohamed Shawky to prepare for the new domestic campaign and the club’s historic continental debut.

The Egyptian Football Association confirmed that ZED FC will take part in the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing as Egyptian Cup runners-up. They will compete alongside Al Ahly, who qualified for the tournament after finishing third in the Egyptian Premier League.

As part of their preparations, ZED FC secured a 3-1 victory over Khorfakkan in a friendly played during their training camp in Turkey.

The agreement for Emad comes as ZED FC continue to reshape their squad with a combination of new signings, returning players and loan additions. Their preparations are focused not only on the domestic season but also on managing the demands of their first participation in African club competition.

Emad’s return from his spell at Al Ittihad Alexandria gives ZED FC another midfield option, while the planned arrival of Khedr from Aston Villa and the additions of Ibrahim and Okka provide further depth across the team.

The club’s campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup will represent a significant milestone in its history. Their participation follows their run to the Egyptian Cup final, while their Turkey camp offers the squad an opportunity to continue building fitness and tactical understanding before competitive fixtures begin.
