ZED defender Wagdy Nabhan to miss Palestine’s Asian Cup campaign with ACL injury

The Palestine Football Association has confirmed that ZED defender Wagdy Nabhan has suffered a torn cruciate ligament and will miss the national side’s participation in the Asian Cup, which is scheduled to take place in December.

Nabhan, 25, sustained the injury during ZED’s match against Al Mokawloon Al Arab on 12 October.

The left-back joined ZED at the start of the current season from Jordanian club Al-Wehdat. He has made five appearances since moving to the Egyptian side, scoring once and providing one assist.

Nabhan started at left-back for Palestine in their most recent match and had been expected to play a key role at the Asian Cup.

He has represented Palestine 12 times at international level and has created one goal.
