Zayyad Musa: Nigeria midfielder joins Kano Pillars on free transfer
Nigeria defensive midfielder Zayyad Musa has joined Kano Pillars on a free transfer from Kanemi Warriors.
The 27-year-old, who plays primarily as a holding midfielder and favours his right foot, has moved to the Nigeria Premier Football League side ahead of the new campaign after his spell with Kanemi came to an end. The deal, completed on 23 July 2026, sees Musa arrive without a transfer fee.
Musa joins Kano Pillars with a current market value of around €100,000, reflecting his standing in the domestic game. His arrival adds specialist defensive midfield cover to the Pillars squad, giving the club an additional shield in front of the back line.
The Kaduna-born midfielder first came to prominence with Desert Stars, earning a move there in 2018 before switching to Kanemi Warriors in November 2022. His performances in the engine room for Kanemi paved the way for this step up to one of the NPFL’s best-known clubs.
Musa’s switch to Kano Pillars marks the latest chapter in a career spent entirely in Nigerian football and completes his free transfer from Kanemi Warriors to the NPFL side.
