Burkina Faso League: Zangaba Abasse Making His Mark with ASFA Yennenga
Zangaba Abasse, the Togolese international defender, is becoming a key figure in ASFA Yennenga’s squad as they aim to climb the Burkina Faso championship standings.
While ASFAR (Armed Forces of Ouagadougou) currently tops the table with 31 points, just ahead of Etoile Filante (who will represent the nation in the CAF Champions League), ASFA Yennenga are sitting 7th with 19 points. However, the club has no intention of staying in the mid-table zone for long.
Abasse, who joined ASFA Yennenga from Anges de Notsè in Togo, has already played 1,080 minutes across 12 consecutive matches, providing three assists and showcasing the qualities that made him a standout in his home country. His coach, Jean François Losciuto, is relying on him to bring leadership and experience to the squad.
Once part of Semassi de Sokodé and AS Douanes, and with CAF Champions League experience, Zangaba is recognized as one of Togo’s top defenders and now aims to help ASFA Yennenga challenge the dominance of ASFAR and Etoile Filante in the Burkinabè league.
With the second half of the season underway, the spotlight is firmly on the Togolese defender to guide ASFA Yennenga back toward the top.
