Zanga Kone: Ivory Coast striker joins Canet Roussillon on free transfer

Ivory Coast centre-forward Zanga Kone has joined Canet Roussillon from US Boulogne on a free transfer, completing a move that takes the 21-year-old into France’s National 1 Group C.

Kone returns to the third tier after spending part of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at FC Chambly Oise. That spell ended on 30 June, when he returned to Boulogne, before leaving the club for Canet Roussillon.

The 1.88m striker has played across France’s professional and semi-professional divisions. His record includes 23 appearances in National 2, where he scored eight goals and provided two assists, while he also made 19 National 1 appearances and scored three times.

Kone has additionally featured in Ligue 2, making four appearances and playing 218 minutes. He also played twice in the Coupe de France, although he did not score in either appearance.

The move continues a career that began with Ste-Genevieve B before Kone progressed to Ste-Genevieve’s senior side in 2023. He joined Paris Saint-Germain’s under-23 team in July 2024 and moved to Boulogne a year later, also on a free transfer.

Kone is a right-footed striker and becomes part of a Canet Roussillon squad competing in National 1 Group C. His transfer was completed on 4 August 2026.
