Head coach of Zambia, Moses Sichone, has unveiled a provisional squad of 41 players for the upcoming friendly matches against South Africa and Burundi.
The Chipolopolo will face the Bafana Bafana on Saturday, November 15, in Port Elizabeth at Nelson Mandela Stadium before traveling to Bujumbura for the Burundi clash on November 18.
Ahead of the games, Moses Sichone has announced his provisional squad lists. Composed of seasoned players and newcomers, the squad will be further reduced after a three-day period before departing for South Africa.
Sichone handed call up to several home-based players, including Eliya Mandanji of Zanaco, Solomon Mpasela of FC Muza, Yoram Chanda of Kabwe Warriors, and Mutondo Stars
The upcoming friendlies forms part of the Chipolopolo’s preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco.
Zambia are paired in Group A, alongside host country, Morocco, Mali, and Comoros. Sichone will use the friendly games to ascertain the readiness of his team for the continental showpiece next month.
The 35th edition of the AFCON has been scheduled to take place in Morocco between December 2025 and January 2026.
