Zambia striker Patson Daka emerges as Hamburger SV transfer target

Hamburger SV are considering a move for Zambia international striker Patson Daka as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season, according to reports in Germany.

German publication Bild reports that the Bundesliga club are working on a potential deal for the 27-year-old forward, who could join the team’s training camp in Austria in the coming days if negotiations progress.

Daka available on free transfer

The move has become possible after Daka became a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Leicester City.

The Zambian striker joined Leicester from Red Bull Salzburg in 2021 for around €30 million and went on to make 165 competitive appearances for the English club, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists.

However, his most prolific period came during his time in Austria, where he scored 68 goals in 125 matches for Salzburg and established himself as one of Europe’s most promising young forwards.
