Zambia Adds Dutch Coach Nico Labohm to Technical Staff Ahead of Niger Clashes
As Zambia intensifies preparations for its critical double-header against Niger in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) continues to reinforce its coaching structure following the departure of Patrice Beaumelle to Ivory Coast.
Honor Janza, who was named head coach, is methodically assembling his support team. On Tuesday, FAZ President Kalusha Bwalya officially introduced Dutch coach Nico Labohm as one of Janza’s assistants during a Chipolopolo training session. Labohm brings European expertise to the technical bench as Zambia seeks to reverse its slow start in the qualifiers.
Zambia began its training camp on Monday, with eyes firmly set on back-to-back fixtures against Niger. With only one point after two matches, the Chipolopolo have minimal margin for error in a group currently led by Cape Verde.
The addition of Labohm signals FAZ’s intent to provide Janza with the necessary tactical support as the team aims to climb the standings and secure a place in Morocco 2015.
